We especially take infection control seriously throughout our office. Following the standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), we maintain proper sterilization of all equipment, operatories and water-line delivery systems. Dental handpieces and instruments are sterilized using a chemclave machine that is a pressurized device designed to kill bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores by heat, chemical steam and pressure. In each operatory, we practice universal precautions, using disinfectant hand soap, disinfectant sprays for all surfaces, new gloves and face masks on each patient, and disposable materials like barrier tape and chair covers that are changed after each visit. Such infection control measures and safe guard against cross-contamination and germs, thereby protecting our patients and our staff.
